At BDK Door, we’re more than just doors. We’re neighbors, teammates, and community supporters. Giving back has always been part of who we are — not because we have to, but because it’s the right thing to do.
Whether it’s supporting local kids’ sports or stepping up for families going through tough times, we believe in showing up where it counts.
We don’t do it for the spotlight. We do it because we care. And because we know that strong communities are built on connection, kindness, and the willingness to lend a hand.
Here’s a closer look at the organizations and causes we’ve been honored to support:
Yorkville Parks and Recreation
Supporting young athletes is one of our favorite things. Through Yorkville Parks and Recreation, we sponsor multiple kids’ sports teams throughout the year. From spring and fall baseball and softball to soccer for both boys and girls, from tee ball for the youngest players to winter basketball teams — we’re all in.
We believe sports help kids build confidence, stay healthy, and learn how to work together. Every time we see them suit up and take the field or court, we’re reminded why this matters. It’s not about winning. It’s about the high-fives, the hustle, and the joy of being part of something.

Champions for Cures
No one should have to go through a cancer diagnosis alone. That’s why we were proud to sponsor the Champions for Cures golf outing. It’s more than just a round of golf — it’s a way to raise funds that directly support families dealing with the financial strain of cancer treatments.
These funds go toward real needs — medical bills, transportation, day-to-day expenses — giving families a bit of relief in a hard season.

Scouting America – Three Fires Council
We all remember the Pinewood Derby from when we were kids. But when adults get in on the action? It’s just as fun — and still for a good cause. We were excited to be part of the Pinewood Derby for Grownups, an event supporting the Boy Scouts through the Three Fires Council.
Scouting is about more than badges. It’s about preparing young people for life. Through outdoor adventures, leadership training, and community service, scouts learn what it means to be responsible, self-reliant, and community-minded. We’re proud to stand behind that mission.

Oswego Hometown Business Expo
As a local business, we understand how important it is to support other local businesses. That’s why we were thrilled to sponsor the Oswego Hometown Business Expo.
The expo gives entrepreneurs and business owners a platform to connect with the community, share what they do, and grow together. It’s also a reminder of the incredible talent and energy right here in our own backyard. We’re proud to be part of a local network that looks out for one another.
Fox Valley Park Foundation – Golf for Kids
Every kid deserves the chance to play. That’s the whole idea behind the Golf for Kids outing organized by the Fox Valley Park Foundation. BDK Door sponsored the event, and the results were incredible — over $90,000 raised to fund youth programs.
These funds helped open doors to summer camps, preschool programs, after-school activities, and sports leagues for children who might not otherwise have access. It’s about more than recreation. It’s about creating safe, welcoming spaces where kids can learn, grow, and just be kids.

Banana Split Inc. – National Banana Split Day
Not every impact needs to be big and serious. Sometimes, it’s about spreading a little joy — and a little ice cream. On National Banana Split Day, we partnered with Banana Split Inc., a beloved ice cream spot in Aurora, to give away 100 free banana splits.
It was a small gesture, but one that lit up a lot of faces. Families, kids, neighbors — everyone came out to enjoy a treat and spend time together. These are the kind of moments that stick with us.

Maple Park Fire Department Pancake Breakfast
We’re proud to support the Maple Park Fire Department’s annual Pancake Breakfast — a community event that brings neighbors together and honors the hard work of our local first responders.
Montgomery Fire Department Pancake Breakfast
BDK Door donated to support the Montgomery Fire Department’s annual pancake breakfast. It’s a small way to say thank you to the firefighters who protect our community day in and day out.
Sugar Grove Corn Boil
We contributed to the Sugar Grove Corn Boil — a weekend-long community celebration full of fun, food, and festivities. It’s one of the highlights of the year for families in Sugar Grove.
Oswego East Sports Booster
In 2024, we proudly donated to the Oswego East Sports Booster to support youth athletics. These programs build not just athletes, but character, confidence, and community.
Gobbler Hobbler 10K
We’re proud supporters of Oswego’s annual Gobbler Hobbler 10K, a fall tradition since 1985. This scenic race brings the community together and celebrates local spirit with every mile.
Montgomery Fest
Montgomery Fest is all about celebrating summer with good vibes and great people. From live music to a petting zoo, parades to fireworks, it’s a weekend packed with fun. We were proud to help make it even better.
Why We Give Back
We don’t see community involvement as an obligation. We see it as a privilege. The people around us — our customers, our neighbors, the organizations doing the hard work — are the reason we’re here.
Whether it’s donating to a cause, showing up for a local event, or sponsoring the next generation of athletes and leaders, we’re committed to staying involved.
These efforts might not make headlines, but they make a difference. And at the end of the day, that’s what matters most to us.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back — and we’re always looking forward to what we can do next.
If you’re part of a community group, school, or nonprofit and think we might be able to help, feel free to reach out. We’re always open to new ways to support the people around us.
Together, we’re building more than doors.
We’re building a stronger community.
